PRESS RELEASE - July 7, 2010 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
emsCharts Enhances Pediatric and Neonatal Care
Functionality in Data Collection Software
Changes address unique needs of pediatric critical care transport teams

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - July 7, 2010 - emsCharts, Inc. this week released several software changes that demonstrate the company's ongoing commitment to improving documentation options for pediatric and neonatal critical care transport teams.

The recent enhancements, suggested by a panel of pediatric teams who use emsCharts, join a growing list of pediatric-specific features that the company has incorporated into its software over the years. Specifically, the latest updates address childbirth and obstetrics procedures including delivery, clamp cord, cut cord, cord relief, placental delivery, reposition mother, uterine massage, fetal assessment, and data points such as contraction frequency and duration.

Existing pediatric/neo fields have been available for configuration on nearly every page of the emsCharts patient record software. The fields range from specialty information and details (Baby Pod, High Frequency Ventilation, Isolette, etc.), to patient weight in grams, and age in months/days/hours.

"Pediatric and neonatal critical care is a facet of emergency medicine with very unique needs," states Pete Goutmann, Vice President of emsCharts, Inc. "Often, teams that transport these small patients are forced to use documentation tools and methods that were developed for adult patients. As our number of customers in this area grows, we're learning more about their special needs and accommodating them as best as we can." Goutmann references a recent announcement about new emsCharts User Groups, "We're planning the formation of Pediatric and Neonatal Special Interest Groups within our user community, so customers can additionally network and discuss documentation solutions using our software."

Customers are always welcome to request software enhancements using emsCharts forums. These functions often find their way into the emsCharts software - a practice that emsCharts has upheld since its inception.
