Course Descriptions

Category 1 - SPECIAL INTERESTS

For users who would like to get more out of their optional module subscriptions

The Special Interests sessions were developed for emsCharts Administrators and advanced users whose services subscribe to some of our unique optional modules.

Outreach Module

Using the powerful Outreach marketing module, this session covers email campaigns, contact management, and customer interaction trending to help you provide improved, personal service.

Imports & Exports

This session provides a detailed overview of how to import and export data between emsCharts and 3rd party applications.  This includes CAD, Billing Export, and HL7.  Time will be allotted for service-specific questions.

Remote Downloader

This session will cover installation, setup, and export formats for the emsCharts Remote Downloader module.   There will be discussion about the many uses of Remote Downloader for administrators, billing companies, hospitals, and command facilities, as well as power users.  The future of the Remote Downloader module will also be addressed.

Category 2 - IMPLEMENTATION & OPERATIONS

For Administrators and Advanced Users who would like to improve their operational processes through emsCharts

The Implementation & Configuration sessions were developed for emsCharts Administrators and advanced users looking to improve their internal training processes and service configuration.

Train the Trainer: What you need to emphasize when training your crews

This session will not go over how to enter a basic call report - you know how to do that!  Instead, we will discuss the other aspects of emsCharts that the crew must understand such as Security Settings, QA Flags, Shortcuts, Certification Tracking, Narrative Fields, and other points that the crew needs to use emsCharts quicker and more effectively.

Data Validation

Are your crews not entering important information?  Configuring closed-call rules can eliminate this problem.  Closed-call rules may be applied to any aspect of the PCR, i.e. billing, operations, and clinical matters.  You can ensure the information you want to be documented is documented.

Quality Assurance: Setting up levels and performing the process

Do you ever wish you could view only specific calls?  Do you know whether crew members need process or procedure reviews?  Are you unsure how to get the correct people doing what they need to do?  This workshop will discuss setting up the various QA levels for your service and how to execute the process.  Whether your service does 90 calls or 90,000 calls, QA should be a part of the plan.

Category 3 - CONFIGURATION & MANAGEMENT

For users who would like to get more out of their optional module subscriptions

The Configuration & Management sessions were developed for Command Facility & Service Administrators looking to improve their clinical processes using the tools provided within emsCharts.

Configuring the Command Facility

The command facility is an under-utilized resource in emsCharts.  This session will provide an overview of the fields available at the command facility level.  A review of code tables and functionality will be performed.  Additionally, modules such as special reports, continuing education, and calendar functions will be reviewed.

Custom Reporting – Part 1

Custom reporting is probably the most complicated function of emsCharts.  Once you tackle the configuration, a tremendous amount of data can be queried and returned - empowering the user.  This session - the first of two - will review the setup, select results, add filter criteria, aggregate data, and do advanced grouping statements.

Custom Reporting – Part 2: Hands On - Bring your laptop!

Remember to bring your laptop!  The second of this two-part series is designed to be a hands-on session allowing the user to create their own custom reports with the support of emsCharts staff.  By the end of the session you will have a number of reports created in your service or command facility with your own data.
